Shawn Harris is a respected law enforcement and security professional, licensed private investigator and founder of MA1 Security & Investigative Services. He began his security and law enforcement career when he enlisted in the United States Navy. During his service, he deployed to various locations as a Master-at-Arms (MA) in support of global military operations. MA1 Harris is a veteran of Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He is the recipient of numerous personal awards in recognition of his service.

During his law enforcement career he served in various roles and assignments including; Emergency Services Unit, Mayor’s Security Detail, School Resource Officer, Internal Affairs Investigator and Sergeant. In 2016, he was appointed as Deputy Police Commissioner with the City of Mount Vernon, NY Police Department. In 2017, he served as Police Commissioner of Public Safety until he retired in January 2020.

Commissioner Harris founded MA1 Security & Investigative Services in 2019 after he saw the need for quality security services for special events and investigative support throughout his career. During his dual military and law enforcement career, he has acquired extensive experience in security operations, planning and management.
