Shawn Harris is a highly respected law enforcement and security professional, a licensed private investigator, and the accomplished founder of MA1 Security & Investigative Services. He began his distinguished career in the United States Navy as a Master-at-Arms, where he served honorably in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, earning numerous awards and commendations for his dedicated and courageous service. Following his successful military career, Commissioner Harris devoted more than twenty years to law enforcement, holding specialized and critical roles such as Emergency Services, Mayor’s Security Detail, Internal Affairs, and achieving the rank of Sergeant. In 2016, he was appointed Deputy Police Commissioner for the City of Mount Vernon, NY, and in 2017, he ascended to the position of Police Commissioner of Public Safety, a role he held with distinction until his retirement in 2020. A graduate of Mercy University, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management with a focused specialization in Homeland Security. Drawing on his extensive and diverse experience in security operations, strategic planning, and leadership management, he founded MA1 Security & Investigative Services in 2019 with the mission to provide top-tier security and investigative solutions. Commissioner Harris remains highly involved in the professional community and is an active member of several respected organizations, including ASIS International, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
